The Stitch Up was formed in 2007 after Dan Potthast, James Webb, and Matt Bennett taught together at a rock n' roll summer camp in San Diego. Late at night after the campers had gone to bed, Dan, James, and Matt would make a 7-11 run and meet up on the 6th floor of the dormitory to unwind. Dan had books and books worth of song ideas that hadn't been recorded yet, and he would try new ones out while Matt banged on makeshift mini-drum kits that he would pillage from the camper's rehearsal rooms. James Webb is a human auto-harmonizing machine, and when he jumped in with backing vocals, the songs really started to pop into life. It was obvious that the tunes needed to be recorded and released properly. The logistics of getting a band together with the three of them all living in different cities was a bit of an obstacle, but the songs needed to be recorded, and after numerous road trips up and down the coast for rehearsals, an album started to take shape...
